5. Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney
A whodunnit with an unbelievable twist that will leave you with your jaw on the floor!
I’m a sucker for a good mystery and this one is simply amazing! I found it so hard to put down. It was really refreshing to read due to it’s unique layout. This is the first book that I had read which featured poetry and I really enjoyed it!
As for the ending of this book, wow. It took me completely by surprise, I was mind blown, I could never have seen that coming! Daisy Darker had me hooked from the offset right up until the final page.
4. The Jigsaw Man by Nadine Matheson
There’s a serial killer on the loose…
The Jigsaw Man is an amazing, well written debut novel. From the moment I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down, a true page turner.
There are a lot of hard hitting themes explored within this dark thriller, the level of detail in the writing really makes you feel as if you get to know the characters. If you like your crime on the gruesome side, this will definitely satisfy!
3. What Lies Between Us by John Marrs
This psychological thriller is really clever in the way that it is written. It is full of more twists than I could count! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
I loved the chapter style, how it jumps between times and story narrator. It makes you want to keep turning the pages to piece the story together.
Reading What Lies Between Us was a twisty, turny journey. The huge web of lies within this book left me mind blown. It had an eerie, chilling feel to it and it felt like an original story.
2. The Drift by C.J. Tudor
This book is amazing. One of the best books I have ever read! The suspense in this one is wild and the twists are non-stop and they definitely caught me by surprise. I also loved how gruesome this book was, I like a book with a good bit of gore!
I found it really engaging, especially with the multiple stories happening at once and how they all came together towards the end. I just kept uncovering more links as I read on, The Drift is so well written I found myself lost in the story and I couldn’t stop reading!
This is a book I would recommend to any dark thriller lover, if you want to read something creepy & thrilling then this is the one for you!
1. The Night Stalker by Chris Carter
Anyone who follows my socials will not find it a surprise that my number one thriller book is in fact ‘The Night Stalker’.
Chris Carter is my favourite author and he wrote my favourite crime thriller series. The Robert Hunter Series. I love all of the books I have read so far by Chris Carter, but something really stood out to me about this one!
Detective Robert Hunter & Detective Carlos Garcia are such great characters and the detail & description in Chris’ writing really does make you feel as if you get to know everything about them. Following them attempt to catch The Night Stalker is a gripping, thrilling journey.
I would highly recommend this book and the others in the Detective Robert Hunter series if you enjoy a gruesome, fast paced thriller- definitely not for the squeamish!
